Do you really want to be going to Egypt right now? Google some of the news stories and backgrounders on the killing last week of the Mexican tourists by Egyptian security forces. Not only total incompetence but more shocking a callous official disregard for what happened (ministries blaming each other and/or the tour guides etc.). When the government places no emphasis on tourist safety in a country like Egypt, this for me a big reason not to set foot there.
