Earning MILES on Non-Southwest Rapid Rewards International Flights

I've been flying Southwest for a long time but have never booked flights using Rapid Rewards points on other airlines. As many of you may know you can book these international flights on airlines other than Southwest if you use their 'More Rewards' travel portal. The deals aren't great and are usually a lot of points, but my question is if anyone has done this before and knows for sure whether you earn MILES on the airline that you book on (i.e. Singapore Air, Cathay, United, etc.); or do these actually book as awards bookings on the airline you select. The reason I ask this is because, for those of you who use the Chase Sapphire card, and use the Chase points portal to book flights, know that when you use this portal it actually books such that you earn miles on the flights you choose when you use your Chase points. I was wondering if the Southwest portal was similar. I am not looking for speculation, I would like to know for SURE from someone who has (or has not) had this experience. Thank you.
