We work mostly out of our house, so the question doesn't really apply. We're often travelling on business on weekends, and too busy to get on-line, but when I have logged on during the weekend, it has seemed slower than usual to me, or at least the Delta and Marriott forums seem slower.
OTOH, I had made exactly one post on FlyerTalk, and within an hour got some e-mail from a friend a couple of states away - who was at work. He's been a lurker for a long time apparently. Said he looks in fairly often, when he's running some long program and has nothing else to do.
My husband was also a lurker for a long time, and then I started reading FlyerTalk and began posting almost immediately. Now he's on too, which is fun.
I basically ignore the red and yellow folder stuff, and the light bulbs. We have 3 computers in this room, so the information that something's new since someone last logged on on a particular machine is usually incorrect anyway.
