If the reservation stays in the ticketing queue more than a week and the ticket is not issued, reservations for legs on other airlines get automatically cancelled.
Aeroplan should still have a record and they should reinstate. Easy if the leg is still available. If not, they still should get it back, buying it if needed. But who knows...
