I used my Citi debit chip card at a Citi ATM today and unlike Bank of American and their debit chip cards, Citi forced me to use the chip. I dipped and removed like normal and then it asked me to insert again (very annoying sequence).
Got mine too and agreed. You also can't just leave it in first time, but have to wait to be told to reinsert. Still, that was the last holdout of non-EMV cards for me. Next experiment - Apple Pay on the London Underground with a US card.
