Conrad Maldives King Water Villa
For the last 2 nights, we transferred to a King Water Villa using paid upgrades, since no Maldivian vacation would be complete without staying in an overwater villa ;-) We were assigned another ‘middle’ unit – 329 (328 and 330 would be the ‘end’ units), but again, nothing that we felt was an issue. In fact, one positive aspect of this particular unit is that down the stairs from the villa is a mini-reef with lots of tropical fish.
We found the villa unassuming from the outside, but very nice inside.
Outside the bedroom is the deck with a non-heated jacuzzi, and private stairs to access the lagoon.
On our second day at the water villa, we found this pair of lionfish visiting our villa. They kept us from exploring the water for the rest of the trip!
And again, for those who find it useful
Other things around Conrad Maldives
6 days quickly went by with things to do, from just lazing at the beach huts and chairs, to snorkeling, to exploring the 2 islands. It also rained on occasion (various times in the day, about 1-2 hours each), but we welcomed that since it also moderated the temperature that would otherwise be consistently hot. Here are pictures from some of the things we did and spots we went to at within the resort.

Happy Hour at Vilu Bar – drinks and appetizers complimentary for HH Gold and Diamond
Food at CM although pricey, was pretty good, overall. We got to try Atoll Market, Ufaa, and Sunset Grill (very nice duck breast appetizer!), as well as in-room dining and Vilu’s (happy hour) and Ithaa’s canapes. Breakfast at Atoll Market, which is complimentary for HH Gold and Diamond, was a huge spread (8 stations), with Western and Asian offerings including a big juicing station. A few pictures of the breakfast spread below.

On the day of our departure, Conrad kindly assigned us a complimentary ‘day use’ villa, since our seaplane flight was not going to depart until late afternoon, and our water villa was already booked for check-in that day.
Service was genuinely friendly, and all staff would always smile and greet you in passing. We also got to request a lot of services (and in-room dining) via the Conrad app. While still a work in progress, we found this app very convenient.
Overall this was a very enjoyable trip for us, and we hope one day to be back again at Conrad Maldives (have to save up more miles and points!).
Next up, flight back to Hong Kong, and Intercontinental Hong Kong...
