Companion and I are traveling on the same reservation from ORD-LHR next week. She may not be able to make the trip due to emergency medical issue. However, I will still travel. Anybody have success with DL breaking out or cancelling a companion from the original reservation without impacting the reservation or costing the other passenger?

I would hope DL would refund the companion's portion of the fare minus change fee and loss of their E-Comfort seat. (This is not a companion cert and we do not have trip insurance.)
