Update/question on this matter:

My question, if you are familiar with the area - does it make sense to get a hotel in the city and go to the event and back to the hotel via taxi, or it is not a good idea?

I've booked Draco - Thang Long Hotel - seems it one of the newest hotels in the area and hope it is not yet soaked with cigarette smoke.

As far as I've researched, the beach itself ordinary (even for local standards) beach and there are just 3-4 hotels around. Nothing happens there.

We arrive on Friday evening at HPH and leave on Sunday evening at 6:30PM. If the checkout is at noon and we stay the the beach hotel there is nothing to do around, so I thought staying at the city would make more sense - we could got on Sunday morning/afternoon for a stroll, instead of sitting at the beach.

Suggestions/recommendations are welcome.
