Joining the YMMV crew, but the things I value most from Platinum are the mileage redeposit and Comfort+ at booking over gold. Upgrades are much better as a platinum out of MSN (80% in my experience) - it seems most Epic employees are Silver/Gold.

And thanks for the tips on the low fares out of MSN - I've never seen a sub-$200 fare on DL, especially same day return. NYC is $188 on Oct 31 (4 segs - possibly other dates as well).
