Most of "chemical free" "all natural" "organic" etc claims are made by marketing folks in rather unregulated environment of cosmetics industry solely for the sake of charging premium.
Molecules are molecules - they can be isolated from natural source or man made - its the same stuff.
All soaps are chemicals with specific properties - they have to link hydrophobic stuff with hydrophilic in order to work and they all have certain molecular features that allow them to do that.
There are many ingredients/molecules not found in nature - those are fully synthetic but its rather foolish to consider avoiding them all, as that would cover all medicines for example.
If you believe you are avoiding 'chemicals' - good for you but really this is more of marketing perseption than reality.
