Personally, I believe the Wright Amendment should be overturned.

There is a wealth of information about the Wright Amendment at PlaneBusiness:

Can Legend Survive?
Ft. Worth-Houston
Legend will they last?
Supreme court rules on Love field
Legend announces cities, taking reservations
AA out of Love Field with 56 Seat F100's

How long before DAL is axed?
Southwest vs The world (5/30-7/14/99)
Southwest vs World, Round 3 (7/27-9/22/99)

To summarize, the federal government had to intervene in order for DFW to be built (Dallas and Ft. Worth don't like each other). It remains to this day because AA is satisfied with SWA being limited at DAL, and SWA is satisfied with AA being limited at DAL (the Executive Class service and Legend Airlines hasn't hurt SWA -- totally different market). AA is much more satisfied (elated is the word) with the status quo.

Since Bush is backed by AA, Bush will not sign a bill repealing the Wright Amendment. Given the split in Congress, a veto override is very unlikely.
