I think the Palace has great F&B and its location is as good as it gets. I would just never stay there over my favorite hotels in Tokyo because of the inflexibility in the service that is an inherent problem with hotels under Japanese management. This may not bother some guests who might find it charming and an authentic Japanese experience, but having lived in Japan for a long time I do not find inflexible hotel service cute, I find it irritating.
But, that's just my opinion. Anyone who is curious about it should try it, if only for the views and the excellent F&B (although one need not stay to eat there - I just take a cab over from Andaz).
I've been to the Japanese kaiseki restaurant there. Very elegantly done with the kimono clad waitresses and lacquerware. The hotel's interior is beautiful but again too many choices in Tokyo.
