AA uses the 300 in two configs. One is the int'l 3-class version that mostly serves LHR from the US east coast. The other is a domestic 2-class config that operates from east coast gateways to the Caribbean.

As for the merger, one downside has to be the acquisition of another 100 MD80/83s. Yuk!
