Currently in the GF lounge having just flown in from LAS on BA274 and decided I'd ask for a menu to see the reaction. I was initially asked if I knew what I wanted from the menu as some people apparently do. I replied no, I'd prefer to take a look. I was then asked if it was my first visit to the lounge, to which the answer was no. I was then told that there was a hot & cold buffet available. I asked again for the menu at which point it was delivered to me.

It does strike me that the focus is clearly on moving away from ad-hoc / on-demand catering and directing people to the buffet. As others have said, if no-one knows there's an alternative then "lack of demand / interest" will clearly be the justification to remove the service.

Of course, since asking for the menu there's been absolutely no interest in taking my order
