Can't give you info on new plans, but I was in Mexico last year for 4 weeks
before Christmas and a full two and half months starting Dec31. Never received any notices from T-Mobile. I was also in Japan/Thailand for 5 weeks before that and no issues.
I don't consider myself a heavy user...checking emails, read news, forums, etc. While in Mexico, about an hour a week for calls(20cent/min) under the old plan.
