Could you maybe divulge airline and route? I really hope you took photos and complained to the airline, because you should be offered some compensation. Unfortunately, if the flight really was full, then there's not much the crew could have done to reseat you. Most airlines do carry pretty powerful cleaning fluids on board, but there is no substitute for a deep clean at home base.
