Transiting SEL is easy. I am not sure how AC handles transit passengers but as you get off the airplane and head towards immigration there will be directions for transit passengers. Your tickets will be checked and then you will be sent or escorted to the transit desk where they will issue you boarding passes for SQ.

If you are flying C or F class on SQ you can use the SQ Raffles Lounge. This was OZ's Business Class Lounge before they moved to Terminal 1 and is nice with a self serve bar and some food.
