Whilst its true the A380 is a fantastic aircraft, try the QR A330 and see if you come away with such a glowing impression. That's where CX comes out on top; consistency. I'd take any CX long haul config over the old QR cabins.
I did the QR midnight flight HKG-DOH-CDG last month and on that odd day, QR did a equipment swap from a 332 to a 333, with their new J seat- if you're familiar with QR's all-J A320, it was that kind of seat in 2-2-2, slightly angled towards the windows, but totally flat.
I have to say I hated that J seat so much- terribly narrow and impractical in terms of storage space!
