Another maiden / married name mix up.

Hi all,

here another maiden/marriage name mix up. I accidentally filled in my wife’s marriage name when booking an airline ticket.
We are flying from AMS - DOHA - CPT with Qatar airways and travelling together. The Dutch passport of my wife shows in bold her first name and her maiden name and below there in smaller characters:

e/v <marriage name> (e/v means: married to)

My wife is very worried she will not be allowed to enter the plane, so I’m getting as much as information as possible to take my chances.

What I did so far:
  • Informed the airline about the mix up. They told me they can’t change the name on the ticket and advised me to contact the ticket company.
  • Informed the ticket company about the mix up. They asked the airline to put a note to my booking and asked for the document number of the passport of my wife.
  • Get an international marriage certificate. This shows she is married to X <marriage name>, however that certificate shows her current lastname is still her maiden name (this is Dutch law), but proves she is married to me.
  • Get a naming certificate in Dutch she is using her maiden name for correspondence.
  • Collected as many cards which is showing both names

What do you guys think are the chances of being refused at the airport? Does anyone have experience with this? With Qatar Airways in this situation?

Thanks and regards!
