A question from the devil's advocate: suppose that Russia passed a law that required planes serving Moskva to allow smoking in at least part of the plane (not the bathrooms, please!)? Or to follow on the previous example, required the planes landing in Russia to have Russian-speaking pilots and crew?

I abhor smoking, and always have, even before my grandmother and great-aunt died of it and my mother had part of her lung taken out (no bitterness here! ) But when our government attempts to extend its reach beyond its borders, it invites other governments to do the same, to the ultimate harm of Americans who travel.
