I'm 6'-2" but I have don't have very long legs, my Mom called me "long waisted". I don't have a problem with the standard seats.
As far as I can tell Frontier is not rigorous about checking for compliance, if it looks OK they let it on - unlike reports I've seen on Spirit of checking every single bag. Once you're on the plane the flight crews have been universially professional and helpful.
That said most of the passengers appear to understand and comply with the rules.
Frontier's Twitter feed is mostly complaints about about fees (often from tickets bought on third party sites) or passengers who don't understand the model.
I haven't seen those issues at the gate.
