AUDUSD is currently trading around 0.70 (USD 70c per AUD $1). Definitely heading lower...you might see a (very) small uptick if the Fed doesn't hike on Thursday, but it will be fleeting. The end of the commodity boom is going to weigh on growth prospects for the Australian economy for a long time.
In short - if you are traveling to Australia, don't prepay for anything upfront if you can help it! ^
