Hi!

Sorry to quote on my first post but I wanted to ask your opinion henkybaby on the use of a sedative during the crucial stages.

I personally will never recommend folk take such, because everybody will react different to medications. Some folk have little to no reaction, and others could be knocked out. I guess this is why you can buy 250mg paracetamol and go right up to prescription only pain relief.

Would they therefore be in a position to comprehend what was going in an an emergency, such as this one on this thread?

I think the only advice I'd be willing to give is to stay away from alcohol and tranquillisers. First flight in 30 years, it might feel scary but if you think about where you're actually flying too, and the amazing place you're about to visit.

Other advice I do give to nervous flyers though, would be to take your iPad or tablet (if you don't have one, find out if you can maybe borrow one from a friend) and put on to the tablet some movies. Yes, while the aircraft has IFE, you might want to watch a movie which you find to be relaxing, or a comedy or something which will distract you from what you're actually doing. Even comedy tv shows can be a fun way to chill on a flight.

Bach calms can help though, as they are natural
