DOJ announced a policy change to prosecute individuals and not just allow companies to pay a fine when financial crimes are involved.

The UA case is amazing in that Smisek, a lawyer by profession, was drawn into quid pro quo - with the conversations and meeting dates partially documented on the internet. The Columbia flight was traded to put items on the PA agenda and gain financial support for EWR projects where UA would benefit. To those who say "shake-down" - does anyone think Smisek was "forced" to add the Columbia flight? Hardly.
The question now is: Will the DOJ use this opportunity to prosecute individuals (Samson, Smisek, Anderson, Foxhall) for quid pro quo bribery? Or will it just fine UA and move on?
P.S. PA chair David Samson was an appointee of Chris Christie. For those who would vote for Christie as President, just think of the character of Christie's potential appointees.
