Side note - I arrive into MAD quite late (23:30 or so) and then depart for BIO 11'ish the next morning. Obviously heading into town is in an option - but I believe I arrived into T4S (international w/ 24 hour lounge?) which has showers, etc. and I'd be happy to camp out the evening there rather than faff around with getting into town.
Am I right in that even if the MAD-BIO flight leaves from the domestic terminal, I can stay landside once I arrive from LGW and use the 24 hour lounge?
I think it should be possible. Once you are through passport control, follow the signs to gates RSU and you will end up back to the gate area of T4S.
After your night in the lounge, you should follow signs to gate HJK.
