Not that what it is suggested that Smisek did with the South Carolina flight is excusable, but the truth is that the Port Authority guy is apparently an even bigger slimeball. That guy was acting not in the interests of his institution, but apparently just his own personal ones. At least Jeffie seems to have been trying to advance UA's interest (which, I know, is probably conflated with his own, but there's difference between what the two guys apparently did).

I look forward to more revelations about the Atlantic City thing, UA's role in which isn't real clear to me right now.

I see the allegations as in character, thinking back to the CO days when Smisek emerged as Larry's sort of pit bull, relentlessly aggressive and willing to be publicly sarcastic and cynical in the pursuit of a $1.00. It was clear from an early stage that he is not Mr. Ethics. Now we get to munch popcorn and hopefully see just how far Jeff was willing to go as the feds start releasing information.

But the most important question remains unanswered. Do we still have to watch his videos?
