So, will asking for bag to be short checked so I can repack my duty free booze I haven't yet bought, work in LAX? Maybe they'll need a proof that I've got a positioning flight? I can say I'm working in Dublin at the moment....

Or will they find a way around this, such as pack my duty free all way through to Dublin. I'd be surprised...
I had no problem last week with the same itinerary.

Bought two bottles of Grey Goose and the bags were sealed at LAX and I had no problems at T5 security where they checked the receipt.

Once in DUB and luggage retrieved, the bottles were placed into my hold baggage for the flight back to NCL.
