And this is exactly why I am confident they are going to take away the SDC from any fare in F policy. I'm not saying it is unethical to do what you are doing - it is within the rules - but I'm sure they are going to have to change the policy to avoid this.
I've had agents suggest it to me many times. They clearly are aware, but they can't say just because you bought last minute and paid more then someone who bought weeks out that you can't SDC. They constantly tout married segment logic and that your fare is AAA-BBB regardless of any connecting points, thus I don't feel bad about it, especially when agents suggest and do this.
You also still have to wait till 24hrs from departure to SDC. Thus even though bought day before you run risk of not getting the flights you want.
