I changed a ticket from LHR-EDI recently for a different LHR-EDI flight later that day. As well as the change fee, the surcharges, taxes and duties went up, which I thought was odd since I was using the same airport and class of travel.
BA no longer applies YQ for domestic/shorthaul flights, so has nothing to do with this thread. Either there has been a change in government/airport imposed taxes/fees, or there was a fare difference requiring additional payment.
