Thanks for the info. My train times are:

This Friday morning around 7am out
Returning Monday night at any time (staying at an airport hotel the night before my flight)

Since my trip out is early doesn't look like I qualify for the cheap day return. I'll probably do what cigarman suggested......

One other thing, do they take AMEX or Visa on the train itself or does that have to be bought in advance?
