I have had my LHR-ARN-HKG (and back) jolly booked on SK. Now for work reasons I need to be in San Francisco around that time. I'm trying to shuffle the existing flights around a little bit and book a separate ticket for HKG-SFO-HKG (and despite poor timing SQ looks so much better than UA or anything else I can see available!).
The outward isn't an issue, but on the return I have the following:
SQ1 - SFO 01:15 - HKG 06:35 (+1)
SK964 - HKG 09:05 - ARN 14:35

Two questions that come to my mind are:
1. Will SQ interline luggage to SK on separate tickets? They are both *A so it should work, I'd think.
2. Is 2:30 hrs safe for this connection or should I do the SK flight the next day?
