Cheapest Fare from Europe to Tehran, Iran?

I want to fly to Tehran Iran.

Saw a very interesting article on the country of Iran today in the newspaper here. Not so many tourists right now, and gas costs much less than bottled drinking water, a decent Hotel room costs $US20 a night, and internal flights to the sacred site of Mashhad is $36 r/t etc.

I hope to fly SOME carrier from a UA Europe gateway port to Tehran. There must be I assume be an Iran national airline? Perhaps someone knows here what it is called. Conversely if ANY of the Star * Alliance carriers do the run, far better for me if they ofer a half decent fare. (Maybe LH?) Maybe there are some deals around for fares at different times? Month would be either this November or Feb/March. I presume weather then is not so cold?

The UA ports I can leave from are London, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Munich. Very ideally from London, but not essential.

Appreciate any input anyone has, especially if you have travelled there recently and can add some tips for what to do and see. Sounds like a fascinating place to see.
