Will CX ensure that the minors in the party are seated with the adults and will they keep the group togther or could we be scattered throughout the Y cabin?
Thanks in advance
The age of the children will come in to play here. If they are young and require supervision for things such as seat-belts, oxygen, or in an emergency, the airline should require them to be seated with adults (in your party).
It is also wise for the purposes of emergency evacuations that families are seated together... you don't want mom and dad going 'against the flow' looking for their children (rather than immediately exiting the aircraft).
If the minors fit into this category, I'd call CX reservations. They may not be able to help you on the spot, but you can ask them to send a note to their seating department in Hong Kong to get this sorted in advance.
