"Are you opposed to traveling via LHR? You could do TXL-LHR , LHR-MCO all on British Airways."
Nope. As the OP previously noted, BA does not fly LHR-MCO.
However, AFAIK,
British Airways do fly LGW-MCO nonstop. If the OP can fly easily to London Gatwick, that would be a good flight for fewer hassles.
In the U.S., OP, immigration and customs are endured at your Port Of Entry to the U.S., unless you were precleared (Canada airports, DUB, etc.)
Yes, but see Post #1. The OP was hoping to avoid an LHR-LGW ground transfer.
The only direct flights from DUS or Berlin (SXF only) to LGW are on easyJet and Norwegian. So the OP would not be protected in the event of IRROPS, and BA would likely insist on charging the UK APD on the LGW-MCO flight, even if the LGW transit were less than 24 hours. Plus, it's conceivable that an LGW-MCO fare would be
higher than a DUS/TXL-MCO fare.
It appears that the OP is now leaning towards doing an LHR-LGW overnight connection on BA.
