CTANK,
Arizona is a beautiful state for a vacation, with desert in the southern part, and green mountains in the north.
This time of year will be pleasant in Phoenix, but quite cool in the northern part of the state.
If you're driving north from Phoenix on I-17, be sure to visit the ruins at Indian Wells and several other spots along the way. Sedona is a must stop along the way, overnight there, if you can--great red rock mountain scenery. Say hello to Snoopy Mountain for me.
Definately try to get to the Grand Canyon, a must see--but at this time of year it may be very chilly, dress appropriately. We had light snow there on an April visit many years
ago, and last year, when we visited the Canyon the first week in May, got caught in a bliizzard with whiteout conditions on I-40 from LV to Arizona, just outside of Williams.
Stayed in Flagstaff, at a very comfortable Hampton Inn and Suites about one block north of the intersection of I-40 and I-17, about two hours easy drive from the Canyon.
Definately see Sedona, and the Grand Canyon--well worth the trip, but expect very cool, changeable weather around Thanksgiving.
Have a good trip.
bj-21.
