I did get to fly on the WTP "throne seat" on an inbound flight but never experienced the bulkhead seat I had reserved on the outbound..... I know, I know....your view on one data point.

I can say that I got 2 OpUps out of 6 Long Haul flights where I had paid for my seat. I will not have to pay anymore (except for that "throne seat") until January 2017.

I would not even think of asking for a refund. I'd rather BA keep giving me those presents.
