The short answer is that there are no longer cold plates-just a snack basket and something before landing (a overly greasy muffin in my case). I had an FA tell me that they only load enough items to fill the snack baskets twice on the transcon red-eyes, so if you see something you want, shamelessly grab it (and yes the snack basket was cleared out the last time I flew a red-eye transcon in F)
