If you take a center pair you'll be a little closer (still fairly divided) to Mrs and you can give Son an "aisle" window if he's of an age that you need to keep an eye on him. Or you and your wife can take the aisles across from each other.
There will still be the arm rest console divider in the middle pairs. There are not the "honey moon" J seats that sit close together with the consoles on each aisle.
In F there's no real way to contact or see each other.
