We have used the "DuoSaver" ticket to get into London from LHR using the HEX several times now. Really like this service over the Tube.
I just bought the ticket for our next trip, later this month, but made a mistake in the order of travel. I booked it with "traveling from Heathrow to Paddington" as the first journey of the return ticket, but will actually be using it the other way first---getting back to Heathrow from Paddington to fly to Rome. We will use the other half when we fly back from Rome to LHR and come into London.
Does this matter? Will we be OK boarding at Paddington with a ticket that says "from Heathrow to Paddington"? I feel like it should be OK, as the same ticket provides travel for the two of us one trip in each direction. But I can't find any info on the HEX website.
From the Website FAQs:
Can I use my ticket in either direction?
Yes, you can. Don’t worry if you’ve bought a ticket for the ‘wrong’ direction by mistake, it will still be valid.

What do I do if I have made an error with my booking and entered an incorrect name, date or direction?
Heathrow Express tickets are fully transferable. Providing the ticket is within the validity period, the name, date or direction on the ticket does not matter.
Promotional tickets may have restrictions so please refer to terms and conditions of the promotion.
