By checking how much money I needed to spend to become OWE. I did not even think of
Royal Jordanian Emerald has a 2 year qualifying period, for example, and it is generally easier to achieve status with them than other airlines because of this (plus a different approach to long distance economy).
And totally forgot about
Sri Lankan can be a lot easier for longhaul economy travellers (potentially almost twice as generous as BA).
So thanks for those tips. Although if they also require the 4 flights, it might be a bit useless...

I looked at airlines I might actually fly (BA, AA, IB, QR, CX, MH)
And by aligned I do not mean identical. Just not a huge difference in the 'cost' of getting to OWE.
