I've just done the same. I booked the Novotel a while back, but reviewed prices today in preparation for re-booking next week after registering for "your exceptional bonus". The Sofitel now has lower prices than the Novotel for my dates, but after reviewing this thread I'll be giving it a wide berth. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread for making the decision easy.
