Citi locked my CC account pending "security" verification....
Citi has locked one of my CC accounts pending a review of an SSA 89 form and a copy of my social security card. They did this within the first 2 weeks of issuing the card and I've been unable to get it resolved. I have faxed in the required form and SS card on 3 occasions now.
Typically when I call to follow-up I am told that they did not receive them -- today I escalated to a supervisor who informed me that faxing these documents was not allowed and I would have to mail them. She would not give me the address or form over the phone so I need to now wait for it to come in the mail.
This ordeal has taken over 2 months and I'm now looking at the very real possibility that my sign-up bonus timeframe will elapse before I have a chance to fulfill the spending requirements.
I have emailed and called requesting an extension and they are not receptive to this. Since this is a combination of a fraud alert and a government form -- they are not taking responsibility for the delays which are 100% on their end.
Any tips/advice? Hate to have gone through all this work and not earn my bonus!
