Visa issue from past employment
Hello all,
Hoping for some insight from anyone who can help. In 2012 I got a work visa to start a job teaching in Jinan. Ended up there for three days after which I realised the conditions and other things were not as expected. I high-tailed it back to Hong Kong and resumed my old job/life.
Fast forward to the present...I've got to spend a few days in Shanghai early next year, and so am thinking of getting a tourist visa. My worry is that since I basically reneged on the contract and left China, will I face any problems going back? Would they possibly let me in, only to stop me from leaving for that previous issue? Or does it depend on if the school actually pursued the issue? Just worried I'll try to leave and I'll get a huge bill to pay or something.
Also on a side note, I traveled to Japan in 2013, transiting through Beijing. Can't remember if I got stamped in and out, but if I did, would that indicate all is well?
Thanks!
