As I said, I think it is a mistake in the new process description. I suspect that in the future you need to pay a fee if you cancel by phone if you can also do so via ba.com.
The agent said that she now had to make a note in the system that this did not apply to me, because otherwise this charge would automatically be added by India. It is a common mistake made in BPR and I am sure it will be corrected soon.
Is there a cancellation fee if you do so over the phone right now ?
