Ok , so your situation is quite normal and previsible , you just need to plan things before ''if possible''
Otherwise i could recommend a stopover in another airport with another company , then you can catch another airfrance/klm flight for a normal price
Prices are not static , its not a stock exchange market but it depends on many things (date , country , affluence , duration of journey , etc ....) so dont expect prices to freeze especially during this period

Next time use the option ''time to think'' and/or react quickly , you can also contact the english speaking support.
When i have these bugs with airfrance its because i wanna book some routes which may not be covered by one ticket or the website is bugging , so i buy them separately , and its even cheaper
