Not logging in with your PIN doesn't help, since you can't disable PIN access.
If you didn't set one you can get away with it. I refused to set a pin for a long time because I find 4 digits less than ideal. Used password on website no problem. However, one day a phone agent asked for my pin to prove ID, and then wouldn't go any further until I let her set one for me. She said it was mandatory, and I gave in and moved on.
