Always happy to answers questions regarding QR.

With regards to the layover at HIA, I can honestly say I don't mind it.

My usual route is to BKK, so from LHR or CDG, it involves a 6 hour flight to HIA, and then another 6 hour flight to BKK. As the flight-times to BKK are well-timed to coincide with LHR/CDG, I tend not to have much more than a 90 minute layover.

To me, 90 minutes (which is usually around an hour by the time you are off the plane and back at the next gate) is a nice amount of time to go for a walk, stretch a little, and allow my eyes to refocus.

Spending 12/13 hours on an aircraft is fine, but of that time, you may watch a couple of films, do some work, and sleep a bit.

To me, QR F is the most comfortable flat-bed I have had the opportunity to experience, and I sleep very well. If I was to fly with BA to BKK, I would have to travel CW as there is no F on the route.

So, the weight up would be:

BA in CW for 12 hours .v. QR in F for 6 hours and another 6 hours...with a 90min layover.

I have voted in favour of QR, and find the Al Mourjan perfectly pleasant for an hour or two.
