I didn't, because I opted to push towards a CCR card opposed to gaining a comparable status with QR.

As I only travel in J/F on QR, I will always have access to the Al Mourjan, and hopefully one day the Al Safwa when it opens (but that is another story and there is a huge thread about it on the QR board).

With regards to redemptions, the prices on QR make it a no-brainer (for me) to simply pay the low fares in return for Avios and TPs. As such, I would rather redeem for flights heading west (which, on QR, is quite difficult if you are based in Western Europe).

Through status-matches, I have Gold with Star Alliance and Elite Plus with Skyteam. Through BA GGL, I obviously am also OneWorld Emerald, meaning QR Platinum wouldn't really offer me much extra.
