BA Executive vs QR Privilege Club (for eastbound flyers)

Now that the EU Gold Status is no longer easy, benefits of BAEC have been 'limited' and I am becoming more and more weary with the way they act, I am looking at alternatives.

I fly mostly eastbound (AsiaPacific) and I think I have fallen for the herringbone seats of CX and QR. It makes sense that my next bookings are therefore on QR. The question is, does it still make sense to stay with BAEC ?

If I credit my two returns in J to Asia (for a total of €3000) to the QRPC I think I will be Platinum (OWE). What I am unsure of is if they reset the counter each time you change a tier ? It seems not "Qpoints earned within any 12 month period count towards determining if your membership qualifies for a tier upgrade. These Qpoints are evaluated daily and members who have achieved the required Qpoints threshold will be upgraded.". At any rate it seems much simpler to retain status, once you earned it. Bit like the old BAEC EU amounts.

Regarding the above: that is nonsense as I had mistakenly calculated for returns, not one ways. Who knew that this would even be possible ? Turns out that it is about the same between BA and QR.

Anyone know of other clear benefits or drawbacks that exist between the two programs ? Redemption rates, availability, surcharges on rewards ? Anything I should keep in mind ?

I know it makes no sense for the TATL crowd but I can't be the only BAEC GCH who earned that flying the other direction.

Oh and please lets not do the political discussion... Please.
