My guess it Etihad doesn't have the full rights to operate another flight "Despite open skies"?

Or

They want to preserve 9W right to fly to SFO and JFK.

Either way, we know they do not have enough "Etihad" configured planes that can go ulltra long haul.

The 9W 77W is being sent to GRU also.
